General Description of Duties: As an essential member of an energetic, high-volume development team, the Storehouse Development Coordinator supports a large hunger relief program through a variety of fundraising activities. The Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating a combination of special events, grant proposals, fundraising campaigns, and other community-based projects, and often presents the Storehouse mission through public speaking and on-camera interviews. The successful Storehouse Development Coordinator cares deeply about making a difference, sees challenges as opportunities, and enjoys a collaborative approach. The responsibilities and duties of a Development Coordinator also include but are not limited to:
- Write proposals, reports, press releases, letters, and other promotional and communication materials as directed.
- Assist the Vice President of Development in managing Storehouse board relations, including: Board development ,Communication to and from the board, and Facilitation of meetings (e.g., board committees, etc.)
- Assist with maintaining a donor recognition/stewardship program and frontline fundraising activities.
- Actively participate in inter-departmental collaboration to support program development and adapt to changing funding needs and requirements.
- Develop skills to implement a comprehensive development program to maintain and expand funding sources, including: Individual support, Corporate sponsorships, Foundation grants, and Government funding
- Maintain a grant portfolio by writing grants and proposals that align funding opportunities with specific programs.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Two (2) years of general work experience required.
- Preferred: Experience in event coordination, fundraising, or grant writing.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills required.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Must foster teamwork and maintain positive relationships with employees and the public.
Other Requirements: Must pass background/fingerprint investigation and pre-employment drug screening. Must possess a valid NM drivers license and proof of auto liability insurance. Must have own reliable transportation and agency insurable driving record. Must be able to work outside of normal working hours, including weekends, to meet the needs of the department. Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder(s) frequently. Must be able to carry, lift 20-25 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to work under sometime stressful situations, and have sufficient mobility to visit various locations with little or no notice. Adelante is a drug free workplace.
