General Description of Duties:

Maintenance technicians will work independently and with other personnel to perform preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Performs painting, cleaning, carpet cleaning, general repairs to doors, walls, swamp coolers etc., minor to moderately complex remodeling, projects, to properly maintain facilities.
  • Performs routine electrical duties, including inspecting and testing lighting, wiring and power circuits, replaces faulty switches, replaces faulty lamps and ballasts.
  • Performs routine carpentry duties, including installation of new doors and installation or repairs of doorjambs, moldings, hinges, door closers, locks, knobs, shelving and counter installation, ceiling tile/grid repair and installation.
  • Performs janitorial duties including general clean-up work around the sites. Janitorial duties may include, and are not limited to, the waxing of floors, carpet cleaning, the cleaning of restroom facilities, and the emptying of trash.
  • Performs administrative duties as required/assigned, completing work orders and obtaining the necessary materials and/or supplies to complete assigned work orders.

  • Responds promptly and courteously to service requests, emergencies and other needs in a timely manner and rotates on-call status on a regular basis.

  • Assists in product movement, picks-up, delivers, unloads materials, purchases supplies as directed.

  • Assists with special maintenance projects. This includes; however, is not limited to, janitorial duties, landscaping duties and preventative maintenance of building components and/or mechanicals

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • Two years general maintenance experience and one-year experience driving oversized truck/vans required.
  • Post high school training or certification in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or carpentry a plus. Advanced training in building maintenance preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, with internal and external customers of Adelante. Have the ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures.

Other Requirements: Must pass background/fingerprint investigation, pre-employment drug screening and TB test. Must have own reliable transportation, valid NM drivers license, insurable driving record and proof of current liability insurance. Must be able to perform hard physical labor (i.e., moving furniture, construction materials, remodeling etc.) for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift 80 lbs., crawl, climb 30 ft., crouch, kneel, and walk frequently. Must be able to stand, bend, stoop, squat, reach above shoulders, balance push/pull, carry frequently. Job Type: Full-Time Monday thru Friday 7:30am 4:30pm

Pay From: $15.50 per hour DOE.
